Since 1931, @sandpipers1931 is a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to serving the needs of the South Bay community through charitable and philanthropic programs. By partnering with more than 65 social service agencies in the South Bay, we are able to ensure that funds raised get disbursed to those in most critical need through our programs such as Emergency Casework, Back-to-School Shopping Program, Holiday Baskets, College Scholarships, and Community Grants.
Featured #Wine of the Week: Istine Vermouth di Rad Featured #Wine of the Week: Istine Vermouth di Radda! Angela Fronti is owner and winemaker at Istine in the Chianti Classico DOC and has long wanted to make a vermouth. She tried to do it on her own but found that it is indeed an art, so she hit up the master, Bordiga Distillery in Piedmont, who's master distiller Mario Cerri agreed to help her. The result is a Tuscany/Piedmont collaboration unlike any #vermouth around. A Sangiovese based vermouth, the wine is crafted from recipes culled from Bordigas' handed down, leather-bound books of recipes, compiled by expert herbalist Pietro Bordiga in Turin 150 or so years ago. Istine Vermouth di Radda is a complex sipping vermouth, with floral and herbaceous notes. Drink straight with a chill, or serve with sparkling water and a twist of lemon To be drunk straight, neat with ice or as an inspiration for cocktails yet to be tried!
