As the foremost Bailiffs of Booze in the South Bay, we feel a responsibility to educate our favorite "amoureux du raisin". At least once in awhile. This weeks flight of the week consists of 3 wines made in the Pétillant- Naturel style, a swashbuckling French term used to describe a naturally sparkling wine. These wines are made using the "méthode ancestrale" where the wine is bottled just before fermentation is complete. The yeasts continue to ferment the remaining sugars in the bottle, et voilà—you’ve just carbonated your wine. Oui! It's a true labor of love, but once you try it, you'll see why it's worth all the work. Pét-Nats are lively, fizzy, crisp, and fun. And who can put a price on fun?
