A Napa Cab for $14.39?! In an informal poll (okay A Napa Cab for $14.39?! In an informal poll (okay, maybe it was a few of us sitting around moaning about our first world problems) someone brought up that there's just not enough good Napa Cabs out there for under 20 bucks, so we went to work. Behold the 2018 Ultraviolet Napa Cab! Ultraviolet, as in beyond the visual spectrum; as in above the uber-high bar we’ve set; as in way beyond expectations! Samantha Sheehan (wine diva ofmomandpop and POE wines) crafts this exceptional Cab (95% Cab, 5% Cab Franc) with grapes from the Volcanic soils of the Red Hills (if you’re like us, just uttering the words “volcanic soils” will send a shiver up your spine) and Coombsville (Faust, Paul Hobbs, Silverado, to humbly name few of its denizens), one of those smaller, out of the way sub-AVAS’ in Napa that consistently turns out kickass wines. How does it drink? We thought you'd never ask. It's redolent of violets, blackberry, and blueberry complemented by more earthy notes of pie spice and bramble (a touch of old-world paramountcy) that finishes with soft, round, velvety tannins. All this for 20 bucks? Hell no! Since it seems our supplier made a mistake on their invoice (we told them to replace their abacus with an app but they didn't listen) we're giving it up for $14.39! Cheers today, gone tomorrow! Grab a bottle on our website or at the shop!
